Being curious is not a crime! / Sharing my curiosity here with you.

Almost forgot to mention I’ve visited the Museum Of The Image (MOTI) in Breda with my trendwatching students. We visited the expo ‘The Pop-up generation: design between dimensions’ curated by wellknown trendforecaster Lidewij Edelkoort.

Lidewij states that the new generation of youngsters is born into a life dominated by screens. They play, learn and sleep with these flat surfaces, but from the flatness arises a multidimensional world. The artists seen in the expo are working in-between 2D & 3D, in some kind of shadow world. Reminds me a bit of the movie ‘Being John Malkovich’ which showed a building with a 7,5th floor. Entering would bring you a whole new perspective.

Camille Scherer from Switzerland really explored this in-between dimension with her pop up interactive book. Is it a book, or a movie, or a game, or…? You can see how it works here. Also the sketch furniture by FRONT really makes you wonder ‘how, what, huh?’

This expo is already over, but MOTI has a lot of interesting exhibitions all year round.
